Our Work

We’ve delivered programmes across 13 countries in Sub-Saharan Africa, Latin America and Asia-Pacific, partnering with Financial Institutions, Development Agencies, Governments and Research Institutions to reach rural communities at the last mile.

Digital Content Development

Complex financial, insurance and climate-risk concepts often are a challenge for trainers in rural communities. Technical language, abstract ideas and unfamiliar products create barriers that standard training materials cannot overcome.

Rural Inclusion Labs designs and produces digital learning content that translates complexity into clear, practical knowledge for rural and low-literacy audiences. We work with financial institutions, development agencies and research partners to turn products, policies and concepts into content people can actually use.

Our work spans animated explainer videos, short educational video series, audio content, games and facilitation tools and agent training materials, All content is designed with behaviour and comprehension in mind, not just information delivery.

What distinguishes our content is how it is developed. We combine subject-matter expertise in finance, insurance and climate risk with human-centred design and local insight. Concepts are tested against lived realities, storylines are shaped with cultural context in mind, and formats are chosen based on how people actually learn in low-resource settings.
Our content is built to travel. It can be reused across products and markets, adapted into new languages, and deployed through multiple channels over time. For partners, this means lower long-term training costs, more consistent messaging, and educational assets that retain value well beyond a single project.
Organisations typically engage us for digital content development when launching new products, standardising agent training, building national or portfolio-level education assets, or translating complex research and policy into learning materials that work on the ground.

Consumer Awareness Campaigns

Good content alone does not change understanding or behaviour. Awareness requires delivery, repetition, trust and relevance, especially in rural contexts where misinformation and scepticism are common.

Rural Inclusion Labs designs and executes consumer awareness campaigns that bring learning to life at the last mile. We support partners to move from content creation to real-world uptake, ensuring messages reach communities in ways that are accessible, consistent and credible.

Our campaigns combine content with delivery strategy. We work through existing systems such as agent networks, community groups and partner organisations, using digital and hybrid tools that we have developed and designed for low-tech environments. Where appropriate, we integrate offline delivery to ensure no one is excluded.
We support the full campaign lifecycle. This includes campaign design, channel selection, agent and facilitator training, deployment of digital tools, and monitoring to understand what is landing and what needs to adapt.
Our role is often that of an execution partner. We work alongside financial institutions, governments, development agencies, civil society, researchers to pilot new approaches, scale proven models, or deliver large-scale awareness initiatives tied to financial inclusion, insurance literacy or climate risk.
